On the 29th April 2022, the Commissioner for Revenue (CfR) organised a one-day strategy workshop for its senior management and other key officials within the Office of the CfR (OCfR) at the MUŻA, in Valletta.
The workshop was led by the Tax Administration Review (TAR) Team, whose objective is to review and update the CfR mission statement and short and long-term strategies.
During the event, discussions about the changes in the local economic ecosystems and challenges being instigated by the continued volatile environments abroad provided insights to the strategic direction being embarked by the new OCfR. Three key strategic pillars were identified as fundamental in the attainment and successful implementation of these strategies, namely Human Resources, Digitisation and Data Driven Tax Administration.
Following the success of this first workshop, the Commissioner for Revenue, Mr. Joseph Caruana stated that ‘bringing senior management together to discuss and share ideas about strategy and implementation, is key to success and hence will be nurtured and fostered in the coming years’.
